Which models have three rows standard, and which make it an option?
Two of the four give you three rows no matter which version you order. The Discovery carries seven full-size seats as standard across the range. The Defender 130 carries eight as standard, except on the Outbound trim, which deletes the third row on purpose to free up cargo room for gear. The other two are configuration decisions. The Range Rover seats five in both the standard and long wheelbase bodies, and the third row arrives only with the Long Wheelbase Seven Seat body. The Defender 110 is a five-seat SUV with an available third row. Order the wrong body, or skip the option, and you have a five-seat vehicle, which is why we walk the build sheet through with you rather than the brochure.
Range Rover: seven seats on the Long Wheelbase body
The Long Wheelbase Seven Seat body is the Range Rover configuration that adds a third row, and Land Rover offers it in SE and Autobiography trims. All three rows get powered, heated seats. Cargo room runs 8.7 cubic feet behind the third row, 43.1 behind the second, and 92.9 with both rear rows folded, so the seven-seat body loses almost nothing in maximum volume against the five-seat long wheelbase. Third-row legroom measures 35.8 inches. That’s real space rather than a token bench, though it sits below the second row’s 40.4 inches, which is what you would expect from any three-row SUV.

Defender 110: a third row you add
The Defender 110 ships as a two-row, five-seat SUV and offers a full-size third row as an option, bringing capacity to seven. It sits among the four models Land Rover gives full-size seven-seat interiors. Adding the row changes the cargo math: a 110 with the third row holds 34.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 69.0 with everything folded, against 34.0 and 78.8 in the two-row car. The 110 S starts at $63,500, and the third row is an additional cost. Space back there is tighter than in the Defender 130, which is three inches longer for exactly that reason. The 110 is the right answer when you want seven seats available and the shorter, more parkable Defender the rest of the time.

Defender 130: eight seats and the longest body
The Defender 130 is the only eight-seat Land Rover. The body runs 200.8 inches, about three inches longer than the Defender 110, and every inch of that goes behind the second row. Cargo space behind the third row measures 15.3 cubic feet in the eight-seat cabin, which is the most of any three-row model in the lineup and enough for a genuine grocery run with all eight seats up. Captain’s chairs are now available in the second row if you would rather have seven seats and a walk-through. The 130 S starts at $73,000 with the 3.0-liter inline-six. Discovery: three full-size rows as standard
The Discovery is the model built around three rows rather than adapted to them. Seven seats are standard, the third row is sized for adults, and the stadium seating layout steps each row up so nobody in the back is staring at a headrest. Cargo runs 9.1 cubic feet behind the third row, 45 behind the second, and up to 74.3 with both rear rows down. Towing is where the engine choice shows up. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder P300 tows up to 5,952 pounds. The 3.0-liter inline-six P360 raises that to 8,200 pounds. That difference is the reason to look at the six rather than the four when a trailer is part of the plan. The P300 S starts at $58,350.

How do you choose between the four?
Start with how often the third row gets used. If it is every day — three kids, a carpool, grandparents in town most weekends — the Discovery and the Defender 130 put three rows in front of you without a build decision, and the Discovery does it for the least money of the four. If the row comes out a few times a month, the Defender 110 fits, and here is the tradeoff worth planning for up front. Its third row is real, but it is tighter to get into than the one in the 130, and putting it in costs you roughly ten cubic feet of maximum cargo floor. Buy the 110 for the vehicle it is the other twenty-eight days of the month and treat the extra pair of seats as capacity you have when you need it. Cargo is where people get surprised. All four lose most of their floor space with the third row up. Fold it and the numbers jump — 74.3 cubic feet in a Discovery, 92.9 in a Range Rover Long Wheelbase. If you regularly need seven seats and luggage at the same time, the Defender 130 is the one that does both, at 15.3 cubic feet behind the last row with all eight seats occupied.
