Everything about Defender conveys quiet confidence, from its purposeful stance to its recognizable silhouette. Its compact, upright look features a raised hood, sculpted grille, and detailing. Touches like round headlights and some of our most sophisticated surfaces yet enhance thevehicle’s stylish look. Defender features standard all-round exterior LED lighting, designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle and use less energy. Premium LED headlights with signature DRL produce a color of light that is closer to daylight, helping you distinguish objects more easily. Driving at night or in poor visibility is significantly easier with Auto High Beam Assist, which switches on automatically and dims for oncoming traffic. There’s a choice of 14 wheels across four sizes (18″–22″), including our 18″ White steel wheels. Land Rover Defender is equipped with 32″ diameter tires as standard. They improve ground clearance and traction, and the increased sidewall depth makes the tires less prone to punctures. There are three engines available for Defender: P300 4-cylinder Gas, P400 6-cylinder Gas, or the new P525 8-cylinder Gas. The supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 offers 518 hp. The Defender gas engines powerfully provide an engaging and direct driving experience. All engines are equipped with intelligent Stop/Start technology and are designed to reduce emissions. Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology is fitted to the 6-cylinder P400 engine. It harvests and stores energy normally lost during vehicle deceleration and intelligently redeploys it to increase the engine’s efficiency. This system helps to boost the vehicle’s performance in northern Indiana and beyond. The Intelligent All Wheel Drive system intuitively controls the torque distribution between the front and rear axle. On challenging surfaces, such as sand, grass, or snow, torque can be balanced between the front and rear wheels to maximize traction. In extreme conditions, when the front or rear wheels lose traction, 100% of engine torque can be distributed to the opposite axle for optimum grip. The optional Electronic Active Differential helps ensure the greatest level of traction in slippery conditions. Thanks to a world-first in Terrain Response, you can now individually configure the Defender powertrain, steering, differentials, and traction control settings. The Defender has a towing capability of up to 8,200 lbs, which means it can readily respond to some of the most challenging demands.

The standard Driver Condition Monitor helps to detect if you’re starting to feel drowsy by monitoring steering inputs, brake, and throttle pedal activity to give you an early warning when you need to take a break. Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Speed Limiter displays speed limits and ‘no overtaking’ signs on the instrument cluster or optional Head-up Display. When activated, Adaptive Speed Limiter uses Traffic Sign Recognition to adjust your vehicle’s speed accordingly.
